About Me
My Life
I was born in Turin in 1981, I fell in love with photography at the age of 12 by discovering Helmut Newton’s photos in a magazine in the dentist’s waiting room.
Not considering at the time that of the photographer a possible profession, I pragmatically chose to study law and in 2006 I graduated. In the following years I practiced as a lawyer and attended the judiciary school, and in 2009 I abandoned any forensic career ambitions.
For a couple of years I explored various professions in the world of food & beverage, web design and youth sports in search of my path.
Meanwhile an exhibition of Mapplethorpe had bewitched me, and when love life took me to Paris in 2016 I tried – successfully – to make photography my profession: couples in love, families, and above all dancers my favourite subjects and clients.
In 2021 I return to Turin in a new and bizarre world enveloped in a global pandemic.
Having rearranged my life, ideas, aspirations and objectives, in 2023 I started my activity as a photographer in Turin with the mature awareness of what I want to be my path.
My Passions
I love strolling through flea markets and antiques, for photography and contemporary art shows and exhibitions, enchanted in front of a photo, getting lost in a painting.
I have always been passionate about sports and at the age of 40 I discovered a new passion: beach volley. Being able to play with a ball running and jumping on the sand even in the city is a healthy touch for my spirit.
I love to study what interests and fascinates me at the moment. Psychology, philosophy, astronomy, botany, economics, ancient history,… and above all I can’t read an essay without underlining and schematizing it. And even when I read novels I always have a pencil in my hand.
Photographers who inspire me
The photographers who made me passionate about photography are undoubtedly Helmut Newton and Robert Mapplethorpe.
Then they were a lot of photographers who fascinate me in different photographic fields:
– Fan Ho for his use of light and shadow
– Herb Ritts for the emotional charge of his portraits
– Thierry Le Goes and Richard Avedon for fashion photography
– Jerry Uelsmann and Bill Kane for art and surreal photography
– Michael Levin, David Burdeny and Peter Steinhauer for waterscapes, and the trees of John Sexton and Brett Weston
My Dreams
I dream of living healthy for many more years to come, making myriads of portraits that people will love to look at to remember what they were like, making beautiful dance shots in different Italian cities, at sunrise in Florence, at sunset in Venice, at night in Rome.
I dream of having lived a fascinating life and of being able to tell it to my grandchildren one day.
I dream of continuing to grow every day, getting to know myself more and more and one day being able to accept and appreciate myself for what I really am after all..
La mia vita
Sono nato a Torino nel 1981, mi sono appassionato alla fotografia all’età di 12 anni scoprendo le foto di Helmut Newton mentre sfogliavo una rivista nella sala d’attesa del dentista.
Non considerando quella del fotografo una professione possibile ho pragmaticamente scelto di studiare legge, nel 2006 mi sono laureato in giurisprudenza, e negli anni successivi ho svolto la pratica d’Avvocato e frequentato la scuola di Magistratura per poi nel 2009 abbandonare ogni velleità di carriera forense.
Per un paio d’anni mi sono mosso nel mondo della ristorazione, poi nel web design e nello sport giovanile alla ricerca del mio percorso.
Nel mentre un’esposizione di Mapplethorpe mi aveva stregato, e quando la vita amorosa mi ha portato a Parigi nel 2016 ho provato – con successo – a fare della fotografia la mia professione: coppie innamorate, famiglie, e soprattutto ballerine i miei soggetti e clienti parigini preferiti.
Nel 2021 ritorno smarrito a Torino in questo nuovo e bizzarro mondo avvolto in una pandemia globale.
Riordinata la vita, le idee, le aspirazione e gli obiettivi, nel 2023 avvio la mia attività di fotografo a Torino con la matura consapevolezza di quella che voglio sia la mia strada.
Le mie passioni
Adoro passeggiare per i mercatini dell’usato e dell’antiquariato, per mostre ed esposizioni di fotografia ed arte contemporanea, incantarmi davanti ad una foto, perdermi in un dipinto.
Son sempre stato appassionato di sport e a 40 anni ho scoperto una nuova passione: il beach volle. Poter giocare con una palla correndo e saltando sulla sabbia anche in città è un tocca sana per il mio spirito.
Amo studiare. Di tutto, quello che m’interessa e affascina al momento. Psicologia, filosofia, astronomia, botanica, economia, storia antica,… e soprattutto non riesco a leggere un saggio senza sottolinearlo e schematizzarlo. E anche quando leggo romanzi ho sempre una matita in mano.

I fotografi che mi hanno fatto appassionare alla fotografia sono senza dubbio Helmut Newton e Robert Mapplethorpe.
Poi sono stati in molto ad affascinarmi in diversi ambiti fotografici:
– Fan Ho per il suo utilizzo della luce e dell’ombra
– Herb Ritts per la carica emotiva che trasuda dai suoi ritratti
– Thierry Le Goes e Richard Avedon per la fotografia di moda
– Jerry Uelsmann e Bill Kane per la fotografia d’arte e surreale
– Michael Levin, David Burdeny e Peter Steinhauer per i paesaggi acquatici, gli alberi di John Sexton e Brett Weston

I miei sogni
Forse ultimamente ho scoperto la differenza tra fantasticare e sognare, e ho iniziato a sognare davvero.
Sogno di vivere in piena salute per ancora tantissimi anni, realizzare miriadi di ritratti che le persone ameranno guardare per ricordare com’erano, realizzare degli splendidi scatti di danza in diverse città italiane, all’alba a Firenze, al tramonto a Venezia, di notte a Roma.
Sogno di avere vissuto una vita affascinante e di poterla raccontare un giorno a dei nipoti.
Sogno di continuare a crescere ogni giorno, conoscermi sempre più e un giorno riuscire ad accettarmi ed apprezzarmi per ciò che in fin dei conti sono realmente.
